ERFC 3rd XV Rugby World Cup Dinner raises over £2,000 for charity
Having held a very enjoyable and successful dinner some four years ago for the last rugby world cup myself and Barry thought it a good idea to repeat this.
I then decided it would make the event even more special if we could, at the same time, raise money for a rugby related charity.
Having spoken to Phil at the Injured Players Foundation I was convinced that this was the cause we wished to assist as they “support rugby players who sustain a catastrophic spinal cord or a traumatic brain injury and help prevent future injuries through research and education”
We chose the Crown & Anchor public house as the venue for this occasion and they did us proud offering a great choice of food with an excellent service for our celebration meal.
We sponsored the wine on the table and once everyone got into the spirit of the event the evening was a great success.
By the amount of beer and wine consumed and the sore heads suffered on Sunday I believe everyone enjoyed themselves whilst raising just over £2,000 for this cause.
